Let's get back to reading for FUN! Join us for breakfast as we meet five times a year to discuss our monthly selections with fellow Breakfast Book Club members.
Open to grades 1-5, students are split into grade-level groups for parent/volunteer led discussions of the meeting's reading material. They will develop their verbal communication skills by sharing their experiences and feelings as they relate to what they read. They will develop a deeper understanding of books, consider others' perspectives on the same book, practice analyzing what they have read, and develop fluency...all while having FUN! This Breakfast Book Club aims to introduce students to the joys of reading and unleash their imagination.
Students will receive 5 books to read prior to the meetings, and they will be theirs to keep. For more information, contact email@example.com.
When: Wednesdays (October 2, December 4, February 5, March 4, May 6)
Time: 7:10-7:50 am
Where: Multi-Purpose Room
All students are welcome to attend the breakfast meetings. However, a $65 suggested donation is requested to cover the cost of a personal set of the six book selections for each child to keep.
