In August of 1889, forty-one students arrived for the first day of classes at Tassajara School in Danville. If you were standing outside one of the windows you would have noticed the students reciting their lessons, singing, using the blackboard for their math lessons, learning geography, spelling, and writing.
Each year, the Museum of the San Ramon Valley provides students an opportunity to see what life/school was like in 1888 at the Tassajara One-Room School. We are excited to step back in time over 130 years and experience life as a student in the San Ramon Valley.
The total expenses are approximately $2,000. We need help from our families to cover the cost of this fun educational opportunity. Please consider donating so that all of our 3rd grade students can benefit.
Please consider donating $20 (cash or checks payable to QRES) to cover the cost of your child to attend. Donations can be dropped off to your student’s teacher. Alternatively, you can donate using a credit card online here (please note that there is a service fee for credit card transactions).
We would also appreciate any additional donations over $20 to cover the cost of any families not in the financial position to donate at this time. As a team, we will collect the funds and update you on our progress. We greatly appreciate your consideration.
Thank you very much for your support for all of our students!
